On this page I’ll post guides to some of the games on Club Penguin. I promise that if you listen to the advice I post on these pages you’ll get way better at games and be able to achieve super-high scores and earn lots of coins in a shorter amount of time.

Catchin’ Waves (Also known as the Surfing Game.)
Where to find it:
Click on the surf hut at the Cove.
Object of game:
Surf and earn points by performing as many tricks as you can before the end of the wave.
How to play:
Choose a surf mode. Freestyle mode is great for developing individual style and practicing moves. Choose Competition mode for an extra challenge; penguins must impress judges by performing tricks the judges announce at the beginning of each wave. There are different waves in Competition mode. In Survival Mode penguins are scored on both there tricks and how far they can surf before losing all of their lives; this wave is never ending. Make sure you choose Surf Lesson Mode before playing, this will teach you how to play, as well as show you some tricks to help you play.Combine use of the mouse and keyboard arrows to surf the wave. Experiment with keyboard combinations (up, down, right, left or WASD) to do tricks. Use the mouse to control speed, balance and general movement. Move the mouse up and down slowly to carve, move left to lean back and right to lean forward. To increase your speed, lean forward and down. Lean back to regain balance if you start to wobble. To balance your penguin in mid-air and while landing a jump, hold down the mouse button.Move the mouse above the wave to jump. To flip, make circular movements with the mouse while jumping; be sure to keep the mouse on the screen. Do tricks in mid-air to perform spin moves. Hold the mouse button down to grind on top of the wave after a jump.If you bail, a lifeguard will set you up for another wave. You can wipeout up to three times before it’s game over.Read instructions before playing to find more game tips.
Equipment Upgrades:
If you are a member, you can upgrade your surfboard for Catchin’ Waves. Go to the Sport Shop and click on the catalog at the bottom right of your screen. It will appear in your inventory after you purchase it. Choose it from your inventory before go surfing to use it in Catchin’ Waves.
Tips and Tricks
- If, the entire time, your penguin is doing tricks it’s absolutely impossible to fall over unless you go overthe wave, go under the wave, or have the wave outrun you.
-Try constantly pressed both the A and D buttons, this trick earns you the most points in the least amount of time.
- If your penguin is constantly falling over try clicking the buttons faster and don’t move the cursor up and down as much; just as much as needed to outrun the wave. Also place the cursor behind your penguin which will make it harder for your penguin to fall off. I found that while playing Survival Mode if you hold the left mouse button you won’t lose a life if a glacier hits you; you’ll just be knocked off balance.
- To gain back balance, place the cursor behind your penguin.
-To gain speed and to help you outrun the wave place your cursor far to the right of the screen in front of your penguin, your penguin will lean forward causing it to move faster. Also using the Silver Surfboard while playing will cause your penguin to move automatically faster. So every time you play use the silver surfboard.
- If you equip the red puffle to your penguin and then play the Surfing Game, the puffle will surf alongside your penguin. The red puffle does not have enough skill to surf with a penguin in Survival Mode. No other puffles can surf.
- To gain the most points while doing flips make sure you are moving around the mouse in circles and are also clicking on A and D; this will earn you a lot of points. Holding down the left mouse button while landing will make it so you won’t fall; you should also hold it while in the air. It makes the penguin move a bit faster.
- In Competition Mode 1st place is awarded with 500 coins; 2nd place is awarded 300 coins; and lastly 3rd place is awarded 100 coins.

Cart Surfer
Where to find it:
In the mine (in the underground).
Object of game:
To do as many tricks as you can without falling before you get to the end of the tunnel.
How to play:
To lean left, hold down the left arrow key; to lean right, hold down the right arrow key. When you see a curve coming, lean into the turn or you will lose your balance and fall. The up and down arrows will change how you’re riding the cart. Press the space bar to jump. Combine keys to get new moves and earn more points. Be careful though – if you do a trick during a turn, you’ll crash!
Tips and Tricks
- If you change your penguin’s color to lime green it makes the turns easier.
- If you perform grinds the entire time you can make an average of 300 coins per game. Grinds can be performed by pressing the down arrow key and hold it while pressing the left or right arrow key; hold it for two seconds and then release it. Then repeat it the entire time. Grinds can also be performed during turns if it’s a right turn hold down the right arrow key and if it’s a left turn hold down the left arrow key.
- On the gmae’s final turn be sure to crash, then perform some grinds, repeat this until you have one life left, THEN complete the game. This allows you a bit more time to perform some more tricks which will earn you more points, and more points means more coins.

Pizzatron 3000
Where to find it:
In the Pizza Parlor. Click on the door next to the cash counter.
Object of game:
Use the Pizzatron 3000 to make fantastic and tasty pizzas, penguin style. Earn coins according to how many correct pizzas you make.
How to play:
Drag and drop toppings that match the pizza shown on the order screen. Speed and accuracy is needed. You must make the pizza in the amount of time it takes the dough to move across your screen. Some pizzas need multiple toppings and others are simply sauce and cheese. Speeds vary according to how many pizza you get correct. If you fail to make a pizza correctly, you will be required to remake it. If you make more than 4 mistakes it’s game over.
Tips and Tricks
- A perfect game will earn you exactly 1280 points on Dessert Mode and 1085 on Regular Mode.
- Always place the cheese or sprinkles on the pizza first, then add the requested sauce, THEN the toppings.
- When putting on the sauce use big, sweeping motions; this will get the sauce on faster.
- Before playing Dessert Mode make sure you master the Regular Mode, Dessert Mode is MUCH more difficult.

Bean Counter
Where to find it:
In the Coffee Shop (java bags)
Object of game:
Bags of coffee beans will be tossed out of the back of the van. You must catch them and stack them on the red platform.
How to play:
Move your mouse left and right to move your penguin and catch the bags. Click the left mouse button when at the red platform to drop off the bags, if you have any. You can hold more than one bag at a time, but watch out! If you hold too many bags at once, they’ll be too heavy for you to carry! Every bag you deposit adds points. Every bag you miss subtracts points. The more points you have in the end, the more coins you’ll get!If you see the face of a penguin in a yellow star thrown out of the back of the van, catch it! It will give you an extra life!If you get hit by an anvil, fish, or flowerpot, or if you try to carry too many bags, you’ll lose a life. There are five trucks. If you unload all of the trucks, you will get bonus coins.
Tips and Tricks
- If your penguin is already holding 5 bags DO NOT attempt to catch any more; if you try to carry more than 5 bags, you’ll lose a life. If you are carrying 5 bags and let other bags to drop you will not have any points abducted.
- If it’s impossible to retrieve a flying bag (example: if you try to an anvil might drop on you) let it drop to the ground. You will not be deducted any points.
- If you completely unload all of the trucks you get a 60 coin bonus.
- If you drop bags on the later levels you’ll be deducted less points then if you dropped a bag on level 1 or 2 because it’s almost impossible to not let a single bag drop to the floor.

Ice Fishing
Where to find it:
In the ski lodge at the green door.
Object of game:
To catch as many fish as you can.
How to play:
Move your mouse up and down to raise and lower your hook. When you see a fish, lower your hook to the fish to catch it. Raise you hook to above the ice, and left-click to release the fish. You must have a worm on your hook to catch a fish. To get a worm, raise your hook above the water level and click. Barrels and boots can kick fish off of your fishing line. Jellyfish, sharks and crabs will cost you a worm if you let them. A can of worms will give you an extra life. For every fish you catch, you receive one coin at the end of the game. If you catch the big fish, you get an extra 50 coins!
Tips and Tricks
- Mullet, the big fish that appears at the end of the game, CAN be caught. Just catch a fish and use that fish as bait to catch Mullet. If you catch Mullet you earn an extra 50 coins.
- The highest score that can be achieved is 176 coins.

Astro Barrier
Where to find it:
In the Lounge on top of the Night Club (arcade machine)
Object of game:
You must shoot all the moving targets.
How to play:
Press the left and right arrow keys to move your ship. Press the spacebar to shoot. If a target is hit, it becomes a wall, making it harder to shoot the other targets. (Be careful! You have limited bullets!)
Tips and Tricks
- At the loading screen if you press 1 you will be transported to level 10; if you press 2 you will begin at level 20; if you press 3 you will begin at level 30.
- Once you hit a target it stays there and does not move or disappear, so when possible shoot the targets farthest away from you first to guarantee they won’t be blocked by other targets.
- Secret Levels
1. Play Astro Barrier normally until you come to a screen that says press ENTER to continue; DO NOT press ENTER.
2. Wait 30 to 40 seconds and a blue ship will appear.
3. Shoot the blue ship and you will be sent to the game’s secret levels.-Expert Levels 1. Go to Astro Barrier.2. On the loading screen, before first level press ‘3′ and you will be sent to level 30.3. Complete level 30 and wait 25-40 seconds and a blue ship will appear.

Thin Ice
Where to find it:
In the Lounge, located in the upper level of the Night Club, and next to Astro Barrier.Object of game:
To solve each maze and earn coins by melting tiles of ice without getting trapped. There are 19 mazes. Extra coins are rewarded for players who melt every tile in each maze. How to play:
Use keyboard arrows to make a path through each maze. You can move up, down and straightforward, but not backwards. Certain tiles will help you complete each stage. Look for moveable tiles, they are a darker color; warp tiles, they are green; and twice-over tiles, they are white. Some levels require a key to unlock the maze.Earn extra coins by melting each ice tile on more advanced levels. Tips and Tricks- On Level 19 go to the far right of the screen and go through the third block and make your way down to a blue button; have the puffle stand on the blue button and you’ll see a money bag for each level you completed correctly.————————-
Jet Pack Adventure
Where to find it:
On the upper level of the Lighthouse. Object of game:
To complete the flight course and collect coins. How to play:
Use keyboard arrows to navigate with your Jet Pack. You can fly forward, backward, up and down. To complete each level successfully, collect the extra fuel cans and extra jet packs as you see them. Explore the space above and below to find coins.Obstacles are everywhere throughout the course. Avoid coffee bags, anvils, trees, water and any other objects. If you crash or run out of fuel, a parachute will guide you to a safe landing. Each level increases in difficulty. At the end of each level you can choose to continue flying or stay in the area you landed. Extra fuel in your tank will earn you more coins. Tips and Tricks- Every level, aside from the first level, has an extra life.
- Try to get fuel only when your fuel tank is at 35%, if you have 80% fuel and get extra fuel your fuel gauge still won’t go over 100% so I recommend getting fuel when 35% or 40% full.
- If you manage to get through the whole game without earning a single coin you’ll be awarded 1000 coins. (This is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, I only recommend experts try this.)
- When you’re in the caves have the lanterns on the cave walls lead you to the finishing point.
- When you’re in the caves (level 4 and 5) do not go anywhere were there are caution signs (yellow triangular signs with exclamation points in the center) unless you are extremely good at the game. If you are I recommend it, these places usually have 10 coin bonuses and are short cuts to the end of the level.
